Description
The Byzantine Necklace The Risivi & Co is made of yellow gold 18kt according to one of the oldest and most complex knitting techniques in goldsmithing. Byzantine knitting, known since the time of the Eastern Roman Empire, is made up of rings intertwined with each other in a dense and three-dimensional weave that gives the chain a distinctive full effect and a soft feel.
Unlike simple chain mail, Byzantine mail requires the assembly of numerous interlocking rings according to a precise and repeated pattern. It is this construction that gives it the characteristic braided rope appearance, a rich surface that catches the light from every angle and makes the necklace recognizable even without the addition of stones. The thickness of 0.6 cm it gives it an important presence while maintaining the flexibility and comfort typical of this craftsmanship.

The tradition of Byzantine knitting
The Byzantine chain is considered a test of a goldsmith’s skill: each link must be precisely sized and woven so that the weave appears uniform and fluid along the entire length of the necklace. Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, this design best showcases the warmth and depth of the metal, creating a piece of jewelry with a classic and timeless character, suitable for everyday wear or special occasions. The lobster clasp ensures security and ease of use.
