The Cuban Square Necklace Risivi & Co offers a completely new take on Cuban knitting: a sequence of rectangular segments arranged diagonally, which overlap to create a continuous herringbone effect, completely covered by natural brilliant-cut diamonds at yellow gold 18kt, for a total of 42.3 carats. Not a classic interlocking of rings, but a true weave of pavé that transforms the necklace into an unbroken ribbon of light.
Each rectangular segment is oriented at a slightly different angle from the previous one, creating the characteristic herringbone motif that runs the entire length of the necklace. This construction multiplies the surfaces exposed to light compared to a traditional Cuban link, almost entirely eliminating visible space between sections. With a thickness of 1.70 m, the result is a strong stage presence, designed to be the focal point of every look.
Covering such an extensive and intricate pavé surface requires a consistent selection of diamonds across the entire length of the setting. The stones, in the range Color G/H (near colorless) VS/SI purity (Very Slightly Included / Slightly Included), offer an excellent balance between brilliance and overall carat weight, allowing for a total of 42.3 carats to be achieved while maintaining an optimal quality-to-presence ratio for a structure of this size.
Creating a fully pavé-set herringbone pattern requires constant monitoring of the angle of each individual segment: even the slightest variation in the orientation of a single element would compromise the visual continuity of the entire necklace. Our workshop in Rome crafts each section individually before final assembly, ensuring that the fishtail pattern remains uniform along its entire length. The clasp, also entirely set with pavé diamonds, features the lion—the symbol of Risivi & Co—a detail that distinguishes each of our high-end creations.
