There are stories that tell the birth of a friendship, others the genesis of a success, others are about patriotism, and still others are about romance and beauty.

Some stories manage to tell all these things together, and they are the stories we like best because they are the ones that become legend...

On March 19, 2022, in Belgrade, Marcell Jacobs won gold in the 60 meters at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships, beating himself and the European record with an incredible time of 6″41, proving (if there was still a need) that he is the fastest man on the planet.

History

As he crossed the finish line, he had a diamond necklace around his neck created especially for him by Risivi & Co, the Risivi Champion Chain. 70 grams of 18 kt white gold set with Princess-cut natural diamonds.

A unique piece of jewelry designed for the purpose of being worn during races. This is the video of the delivery of the Risivi Champions Chain at a well-known restaurant in Rome.

But how did this collaboration begin? It all started on Instagram. Marcell as a jewelry enthusiast, loved our products and had enthusiastically noticed the necklaces made for Tony Effe of the Dark Polo Gang and so we met.

After Marcell broke the Italian record of 9.95 we got in touch to congratulate him and knowing that he would be leaving for the Tokyo Olympics in a few months we decided, on the wave of enthusiasm for his achievements, to give him a gift.

The affinity had been there from the beginning, we liked the way he communicated on social and fully represented the values of Risivi & Co: commitment, respect and dedication to one's work but also enthusiasm and light-heartedness.

So we decided to do something we had never done before: to give an object dear to us as a good luck charm, the pendant with the’Italy flag emoji.

We were very fond of that pendant because wearing it around our necks we had won the European soccer championships, but we decided that at that moment it would serve him more since he was a compatriot called upon to accomplish the most arduous feat: to become the first Italian centimeter runner to win a gold medal at the Olympics.

He was extremely happy with the gift, promising to wear it around his neck at all times during competitions. Keeping the promise, Marcell made history. Our happiness at seeing him cross that finish line with our pendant around his neck was indescribable.

When he returned from Tokyo he was grateful for our good luck charm. From there on, a friendship was born based on mutual trust despite the fact that we had only known each other for a short time. When asked us to design and make the engagement ring for his future wife We were really proud of that.
