Description
Le Carbon Wood Chopsticks they put together 18 kt yellow gold, carbon fiber e burl wood twenty-one centimeters in length and not even a centimeter in cross-section.
Carbon
Carbon fiber does not melt and cannot be welded: it is layered and cured, then machined by removal. This means gold and carbon cannot be joined like two metals—they must be crafted separately and fitted with tight tolerances, because no weld can exist between the two.
Its dark and opaque intertwining against the polished gold is a contrast that no alloy can reproduce: one absorbs light, the other gives it back.
Burl wood is the part of the wood that grows at the base of the trunk: the fibers twist instead of running straight, which is why every piece has a different and unrepeatable grain. No two pairs of chopsticks will ever be identical.
The stones
0.31 ct of natural brilliant-cut diamonds, Color F e VVS clarity.

The Artistry of Risivi & Co
Twenty-one centimeters with a cross-section of less than one centimeter is an extremely thin structure: the three materials must be bonded along their entire length without the piece flexing, and the stones set without weakening the only supporting point.
