The Bart of Side Baby

With Arturo Bruni AKA Side Baby there is an affinity that has its roots among the cobblestones of the Trastevere neighborhood. We have known him since the days of the Dark Polo Gang and even after he left the group he continued to frequent our Shop in the heart of Rome, in the neighborhood where we all live.

During his visits we often talked about our projects so that eventually he too decided to make his own custom jewelry.

The idea for the subject of the jewel came from the particular kind of relationship we have with him and his family. In fact, it was during a chat at the Bruni home that we realized how Side and his sister are a bit like Bart and Lisa in the Simpson family. She as studious and diligent as he is outside of all rules, Side is in every way the same as the Simpson scion: a young punk troublemaker but with a heart of gold.

So he decided to wear a particular version of the most famous cartoon skater around his neck in a more Trap version, highlighted by the Gucci Ghost jersey laser-engraved on the satin mesh.

The pendant is made entirely of 18 kt white gold, the face and arms are composed of 9.5 ct of natural brilliant-cut diamonds and The famous googly eyes are made of 3D nano ceramic, a material and technique that we are exploring further and with which we also made the Demon Bear pendant for Oni One.

The design of the jewelry started about six months before delivery, although the actual making took about three to four months.
